On November 7, 2020, the GMYT Fashion Academy buzzed with pride and anticipation as a fresh wave of fashion designers took the spotlight during the academy’s highly anticipated graduation ceremony. The event marked the culmination of intensive training in the Pattern Drafting & Grading for Graduate Collection course—one of the academy’s most respected programs.

The graduating collection was nothing short of inspiring. Each student presented a unique body of work that reflected not only technical mastery but also deep cultural awareness and individual design identity. From intricately tailored pieces to bold, deconstructed silhouettes, the collections demonstrated a sophisticated understanding of garment construction, fabric manipulation, and creative direction.

In a major highlight of the event, Tiffany Amber, one of Nigeria’s most iconic fashion designers, attended as a guest reviewer and mentor. She praised the academy for its dedication to excellence and took time to personally highlight several standout collections for their innovation, attention to detail, and strong commercial potential. According to Tiffany Amber, “The work coming out of GMYT is proof that the next generation of African designers is not only talented but ready for the global stage.”
Her recognition added a layer of prestige to the ceremony, inspiring both graduates and aspiring designers in attendance. The selected students received special commendation and are already gaining interest from stylists and fashion editors.

More than just a graduation, the event was a celebration of resilience, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit—values deeply rooted in GMYT’s mission. With a growing alumni network and strong mentorship support, GMYT Fashion Academy continues to shape the future of fashion in Nigeria and beyond.
